Early Years Pupil Premium
Are you missing out on early years pupil premium for your eligible children in care and previously looked after children?
Sandwell MBC is responsible for distributing Early Years pupil premium funding for these groups if they are included in the school census return until the children move into Reception
For children in care (regardless of the local authority who looks after them), early years providers can claim this funding. If you have any children attending your setting where you believe they are missing out, get in touch with the Virtual School to clarify their entitlement.
For previously looked after children who have:
- been adopted from local authority care
- left care through a special guardianship order
- left care through a child arrangements order
The parents, adoptive parents or guardians of these children should show school evidence of the court order that proves that the child was in local authority care in either England or Wales.
Ask parents to complete the relevant form (including section 4) and the setting will return it to the Early Years team either via Moveit mailbox 3335555 (if you have access) or email to EarlyYears_Team@sandwell.gov.uk.
